How it works

Rotate JPG in 4 steps

  1. Drop a JPG onto the tool or click Choose File.

  2. Click rotate left or right in 90° steps - the preview updates instantly.

  3. Add a mirror flip if needed.

  4. Download the corrected JPG.

When to use it

The classic sideways-photo problem is a JPG problem: cameras often save the image sideways with an orientation flag, and half the apps out there ignore the flag. Rotating here re-writes the actual pixels, so the photo is upright everywhere - old software, upload forms, printers, all of it.

  • Fix camera photos that upload sideways to forms and CMSs.
  • Correct scans that came off the flatbed rotated.
  • Straighten a folder of sideways shots in one Pro batch.

Format & quality notes

  • Rotation is baked into the pixels, not written as a flag - that's why it sticks in every app.
  • 90° steps rearrange pixels without interpolation; the JPG is re-encoded once at high quality on save.
  • Width and height swap on 90°/270° - the readout shows the new dimensions.
FAQ

Questions about the Rotate JPG.

Why does my JPG show upright on my phone but sideways elsewhere?

Your phone stored it sideways plus an orientation flag. Apps that respect the flag show it upright; apps that don't show it sideways. Rotating here fixes the pixels so the flag no longer matters.

Does rotating a JPG lose quality?

The rotation itself is pixel-exact. Saving re-encodes the JPG once at high quality - visually indistinguishable, and it doesn't compound unless you re-save repeatedly.

Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle like 5°?

This tool does 90° steps and mirroring, which covers orientation problems. Free-angle straightening (with cropping) arrives with the Image Cropper.

Is the photo uploaded?

No - rotation happens in your browser.
