How it works

Image Converter in 4 steps

  1. Drop an image onto the tool or click Choose File.

  2. Pick the output format (JPG, PNG, or WebP) - the result updates instantly.

  3. Adjust quality if the format supports it and compare file sizes in the live preview.

  4. Click Download to save the converted image to your device.

When to use it

Convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP without sending your file anywhere. The conversion runs as code in your browser, so the image never leaves your device - there is no upload bar because there is no upload.

  • Turn a WebP saved from the web into a JPG that opens in any app.
  • Convert screenshots from PNG to JPG before emailing them.
  • Prepare one master image in multiple formats for a website.

Format & quality notes

  • JPG is smallest for photos but does not support transparency - transparent areas are filled with white.
  • PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, at the cost of larger files for photos.
  • WebP usually beats JPG at the same visual quality and supports transparency.
FAQ

Questions about the Image Converter.

Does my image upload to a server?

No. The converter runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, and WebP in both directions today. HEIC, AVIF, and TIFF conversions are on the roadmap.

Is there a file size limit?

Free single-image conversion supports files up to 25MB. Pro raises the limit and adds batch conversion with ZIP export.

Does converting reduce quality?

Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP is lossy - use the quality slider to balance size against fidelity; 0.9 is visually lossless for most photos.
