Tools that never see your files.
GenClean is a toolbox of image utilities - converters, a resizer, a compressor, a cropper, metadata cleaners, and more - built on one architectural decision: your files never leave your device.
Why we built it this way
Every "free online image tool" works the same way: you upload your file to their server, they process it, you download the result. That model quietly asks you to trust a stranger's server with your photos, your clients' assets, your contracts, and your screenshots - including everything embedded in them, like GPS locations and device data.
Modern browsers don't need that trade. Image decoding, encoding, resizing, cropping, and even PDF rendering can run as code on your own machine. So GenClean ships the tool to your browser instead of shipping your file to a server. There is no upload bar because there is no upload.
What that means in practice
- Files are opened and processed in your browser tab's memory, and results save straight to your device.
- We cannot see, store, scan, or leak your images - the architecture makes it impossible, not just impolite.
- Tools keep working offline once the page has loaded. You can verify with your browser's network tab.
- Every tool is free for single files, unlimited, without an account. GenClean Pro adds batch processing and ZIP export, and removes ads, with a single lifetime purchase.
Who's behind it
GenClean is built by an independent maker who also runs BuiltByMe, FixMyPDF, SubmitWell, and TheFastestWeb. Questions, ideas, or a tool you wish existed? Say hello - the most-requested tools get built first.
