How it works

Rotate & Mirror in 4 steps

  1. Drop an image onto the tool or click Choose File.

  2. Click rotate left / rotate right to turn in 90° steps, and toggle the mirror options to flip.

  3. The preview updates instantly with the new orientation and dimensions.

  4. Download the corrected image.

When to use it

Turn sideways photos upright, or mirror an image for printing, transfers, and design work. Every rotation and flip happens on your device - the picture is never uploaded, and the preview updates the instant you click.

  • Fix photos that came off a camera or scanner sideways or upside down.
  • Mirror artwork for iron-on transfers and screen printing.
  • Flip selfies so text in the frame reads the right way around.

Format & quality notes

  • Rotating by 90° or 270° swaps the width and height - the readout shows the new dimensions.
  • Output keeps the input format: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG with transparency intact.
  • Rotation is pixel-exact; nothing is cropped or scaled in the process.
FAQ

Questions about the Rotate & Mirror Image.

Does rotating reduce image quality?

90° rotations rearrange pixels without interpolation, so there is no detail loss. JPG output is re-encoded at high quality as part of saving the file.

Can I rotate by a custom angle?

This tool does 90° steps plus horizontal and vertical mirroring, which covers orientation fixes. Free-angle rotation with cropping is planned alongside the Image Cropper.

Why does my photo look upright but download sideways elsewhere?

Some photos are stored sideways with an orientation flag that not all apps respect. Rotating here bakes the correct orientation into the pixels, which fixes it everywhere.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Rotation and mirroring run in your browser - the image never leaves your device.
